Did you know that simply displaying printed portraits of your children in your home can increase their self-esteem and sense of belonging?

Psychologists have studied this, and the results are powerful! Dr. David Krauss, an expert in child psychology, found that when kids see themselves in family portraits, it reinforces their importance in the family. It tells them:
You are loved.
You belong here.
You are an important part of this family.
Dr. Krauss, who is a licensed psychologist from Cleveland, Ohio said, “ It is so helpful for children to see themselves as a valued, and important part of a family unit. A photographer’s job is to create, and make the image look like a safe holding space for kids, where they are safe and protected. Kids get it on a really simple level.” Krauss is noted as one of the earliest pioneers in utilizing people’s personal photography and family albums to assist in mental health counseling and therapy. He co-authored “Photo Therapy and Mental Health” in 1983 with Jerry L. Fryrear and it is considered a founding text for the use of photography in therapy.
Think about it – how often do you scroll past thousands of digital pictures on your phone, never printing them? Studies show that printed images help children to retain happy memories, strengthen emotional connections, and feel more secure.
