2016 Highlight Reel and Behind the Scenes Video | Richmond Hill Photographer

Hard to believe that 2016 is drawing to a close. As I type, there are exactly 90 minutes left until we ring in 2017. And, like many of you, I have spent the last several days ruminating about this past year. Successes, missteps, the highs and lows. During the lull of Christmas and New Year, surrounding myself with the love of family, helps me to recharge and refocus. Sometimes I think we get so busy running a business that it’s hard to step back and take a look around – we wind up in survival mode. The quietness and refreshing fervor of a new year allows me to purposefully reflect on my business. The wheels in my brain begin to spin with brand new ideas and better ways to serve you, my beloved client. I know there are many, many photographers to choose from and I do not take your decision to hire me lightly.

So now, with only an hour or so left to go, what do I think of 2016?

Well, it was pretty darn amazing for MMP.

Moving to a new studio.

Hiring my amazing assistant, Lauren. A year later and I still don’t know how I managed so long without her. I love you, girl.

Being recognized as a Bronze Star Photographer by the Professional Photographers of America for all four of my images being selected for the General Collection in the International Print Competition.

Winning Bryan County’s Favorite Photographer.

And you. The reason I am able to be successful doing what I love.

I hope you know how much your business and your friendship mean to me. I’m touched by all of you – your stories, legacies, joys, hopes, and yes – even the heartaches. Thank you for trusting me to capture and preserve these fleeting moments … the roundness of a pregnant belly, tiny bubbles glistening on a newborn baby’s lips, first laugher and first steps. From birth to birthdays, anniversaries, high school graduations to the togetherness of family – I’m honored to be your photographer.

And while thank you isn’t enough, it’s all I have. So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you.

Here’s to 2017.
